MVP Indoor
Batting Cage was built by the Salazar Family with the purpose to help young ball players on the Central Coast of California
excel in the sports of Baseball and Fastpitch Softball.
Mark and
Yvette Salazar are the owners of the facility and the batting cages started because of their children’s love
of the game. Mark was using a local park at night so he and their kids could practice with Bill Hobbs. With Bill
and Mark practicing with the kids under the lights, some other local players started to join them. Some nights they would
be at the park for more than 4 hours helping local kids. When the weather started to get cold (28 degrees out)
the kids still wanted to practice. Mark and Bill would bundle up and it was still cold.
One rainy
weekend Mark went to Southern
California and went to a couple of indoor facility. On one of these trips, Marks father, Max joined him. Max was
so impressed with the place and the ability to allow the kids to practice year round; he spoke to the owner about his business.
When they both got back into the car, Max looked over to Mark and said "you need to build one of these in Paso Robles". The
next thing you know, Mark signed a lease and MVP Indoor Batting Cages were started.
